Every week day your kids go off to school. He spends about 7 hours at school with hundreds of other kids. Sometimes he asks so many questions I just can’t take anymore. Then there are the times when he does the crazy things that little boys do.

Don’t Act like you don’t know what I am talking about.

Imagine having 14 – 22 just like your son in one class.

I am thankful for my son’s teacher, and I like to show her that I appreciate her. She is helping him build a solid foundation, that without it he will struggle later in life.

So every year including this year I purchase a gift Christmas gift, teacher appreciation gift, and a thank you gift at the end of the year for his teacher. Gift cards are a great gift for teachers but they don’t last.

This year my son wanted to give his teacher(and a few others) a ribbon. So I helped him design a ribbon on the computer using Inkscape. Then we added them to mugs and bags at Zazzle.

Noticed all the ribbons are different and have a special message from my son to the teacher. We also added the teachers name to make it a personalized gift. My son choose a font that was appropriate for each teacher. The interesting thing is that I was only planning on giving his regular teacher one but my son wanted to give to multiple teachers. So it is good to get your child’s input.

Be sure to give a gift to your son’s teacher to show your appreciation. Personalized gifts are never forgotten and teachers keep them for years. I am a teacher so I do know how it feels to get a gift from a students.  I have a small collection of gifts that I have collected over the past 6 years and they all mean a great deal to me.

Real Women Teach Math is an extremely popular design. The design was inspired by a friend that teaches math. She keeps it real with her kids and makes sure that they all learn. She holds them all accountable and does not break under the pressure. The “R” in real is the symbol for a real number. I don’t know about anywhere else but it seems that the number of female math teachers is beginning to out number male math teachers. All I have to say is more power to all math teachers. Remember to show some love to any one that you know that’s a math teacher. Being a math teacher is a hard job because most students develop a mental block for math concepts. It takes a real women to teach math.

Fear either hinders you or helps you grow. Webster defines fear as “an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger and accompanied by increased autonomic activity.” Fear can be a result of your instinct kicking in to keep you away from danger, which is a healthy fear that helps you grow. Then there is the fear of change which hinders our growth. To overcome your fear of change remind yourself that fear is only False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear is present when you can not see the big picture. It is like walking down the street and seeing a corner but not knowing what is around the corner. If could be something good, something bad or nothing at all. Just think about the last time you experienced fear. Did your fear come true? Or was everything ok.

The idea of how fear hinders growth or paralysis you caused me to create a Fear design. I feared failure so I did not do anything. But when I look back I can see that I let False Evidence Appearing Real stop me from moving forward and making progress. We have to spread the word that fear is only False Evidence Appearing Real.

The one thing that I remember from my college accounting classes is that the left must equal the right. Any business or accounting major knows that this is Accounting 101. Your debits must equal your credits. So if there is a debit on the left there has to be a credit on the right.

Businesses, the government, and individuals often ignore this basic truth. Yeah I know it is just Double-Entry Accounting, but it is powerful if you use it to remind yourself that for every action there is an opposite reaction.

I don’t know about you but sometimes I need to be reminded that if I increase my liabilities I am also increasing my expenses. So even though I may want that new laptop(liability) I don’t want the increased expense. To often we forget the simple things in life.
